Following a change in Ofcom regulation, a major initiative is being undertaken in the UK to make the cost of calling businesses and services clearer for everyone – consumers and organisations.

These changes affect the call charging structure, most notably for 0800 and 0808 numbers (also known as UK Freephone numbers). Currently calls to these numbers are only free when made from a landline telephone.

Under Ofcom’s new rules, calls made to UK Freephone numbers from a mobile phone will no longer be chargeable. However, Freephone operators such as Indigo Forward will be charged an additional fee for receiving calls to these numbers. As a result, please note that effective 1 July 2015 Indigo Forward will implement a new rate of £0.10 per minute for all calls to the UK 0800 and 0808 numbers we make available to you and that originate from a mobile.

This change will automatically apply and will not affect the rates applicable for calls made to these UK Freephone numbers from a landline or any other charges applicable for the Indigo Forward services you use.

If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact your Indigo Forward Account Manager directly. You may also visit for additional information on the Ofcom regulation change.
